Nadim has 15 years of experience across Europe, the Middle East and Asia in the areas of public/political communication and Government and Corporate Affairs in some of the world's most adverse and sophisticated regulatory environments. Prior to moving with Sampoerna in Indonesia in 2016, Nadim had joined Philip Morris International (PMI) in Dubai where he was leading their government relations for GCC countries. He moved in 2014 to Singapore to head PMI’s Corporate Affairs function there for a couple years. Nadim worked with major US and International think thanks such as the International Crisis Group and the Carnegie Endowment where he was the regional Communications Director for Middle East North Africa. He holds a PhD in Geopolitics from the Paris University as well as two Masters in Communication and in Political Sciences.

Ruediger Schaefer is Head of Special Projects and External Affairs at Allianz Asia Pacific in Singapore after having served 4 years as the Chief Operating Officer of the region. He has been with Allianz Group for almost 30 years and worked in various senior management roles in different geographies. His experiences ranges from Operations, IT, Product Development to Distribution in both General- as well as Life and Health Insurance.


Ruediger has also recently been appointed as the Chairman of the Financial Services Committee of EuroCham in Singapore. Ruediger holds a PhD in Criminal Law from Frankfurt University/Germany.

Diplomat and outcome-focused strategic government/public policy executive with over 15 years of international work experience, along with a record of differentiated insights, actionable plans, and measurable results specifically designed to deal with economic, regulatory, and political challenges. Currently, as Novartis’ Asia-Pacific Regional Director for Government and Public Affairs, Karin is in charge of shaping and improving the political business environment, and regulatory policies, in order to position Novartis as a thought leader on healthcare policy and -systems, and as a preferred partner to governments throughout the APAC region. Full bio.

Nabil Francis is the President of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine – the oldest European Chamber outside of Europe, with close to 800 members. Mr. Francis also currently serves as CEO and President of Republic Cement Services Inc. With vast experience in the construction and building materials industry, he has led organizations of significant scale and complexity across different markets, including Morocco, India, Bulgaria, Egypt, France, Germany and Sri Lanka.  He obtained a master’s degree in business administration from ESSEC Business School in France and holds degrees in civil engineering from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon and urban planning from McGill University.

Since 2015, Johan de Villiers is Managing Director for ABB in Singapore and South-East Asia. In the region, ABB employs around 5,000 staff and has permanent offices in all 10 ASEAN countries. The region is seen as one of the fastest growing for the ABB Group, with the tremendous economic growth opportunities in industry, energy, transportation and infrastructure. Johan frequently engages with national, and international, government and business leaders at the highest levels across all ASEAN. Johan also sits on the EU-ABC Executive Board as the Treasurer. 

Colin has 20 years of experience in corporate affairs, public relations, government and regulatory affairs, issues management, sustainability and brand management at both the regional (Asia-Pacific) and global levels. Before joining GSK, Colin was Global Director, Scientific Affairs and Brand Communications for Skin Inc. where he oversaw Technical and Regulatory affairs, Marketing and Digital communication, and Issues and Crisis management. In his role, Colin ensured that Innovation and Brand communication became key drivers of Skin Inc’s business growth globally.

Jeff has been in the automotive industry since 1982. He had 15 years of experience in retail dealership in Australia when he joined Audi. He was in charge of the Aftersales function for Audi in Australia before being the Managing Director of the brand in the Middle East region. In December 2012, Jeff took on his current role as the Managing Director of Audi in Singapore. He is married and has three children.

James Hennah joined BT in 1997, and was most recently CEO for BT’s global Media & Broadcast business and managing director of carrier, channel and MVNO sales in BT’s Wholesale & Ventures division. In that position, he oversaw a number of world firsts such as the first ever live broadcast of 4K television in March 2015. With more than 19 years of commercial experience within BT, James has a proven track record in the development and execution of innovative propositions and in the end-to-end management of complex customer relationships.

Claus Andresen is the President and Managing Director for SAP Southeast Asia (SEA). He is responsible for business strategy, operations, P&L, and sustainable growth for SAP across SEA, building on SAP’s success in its 28-year establishment in the region. He leads high-performing teams across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and other emerging markets in SEA. Prior to this, Andresen was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for SAP Indian Subcontinent, where he provided leadership and direction to SAP’s multifunctional sales and operations organization in India. H.E. Dr. Lim Hong Hin was first appointed by the ASEAN Coordinating Council as the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community for the period of 2012 to 2015 to support ASEAN Member States’ effort to transform ASEAN into a region with free movement of goods, services, investment, skilled labour, and freer flow of capital. He was reappointed for another term from 1 April 2015 to 31 December 2017. He had previously served at the Brunei Economic Development Board, Prime Minister’s Office where he was responsible for attracting, retaining and adding value to foreign direct investment to diversify Brunei Darussalam’s economy to create new opportunities for SMEs and local people.

Adam Schwarz is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Asia Group Advisors, where he counsels senior executives on business opportunities in key Southeast Asian markets and how to effectively manage political, economic, and security risks. Based in Southeast Asia since 1987, Mr. Schwarz has a deep set of relationships with business, political and civil-society leaders across the region and is considered a leading global authority on Indonesia. Mr. Schwarz has served as advisor to the U.S. State Department, Defense Department, the World Bank, and the Comprehensive Partnership between Indonesia and the United States.

Sandeep Malik is CEO Asia, Aon Risk Solutions, the risk management and insurance brokerage business of Aon plc. In addition, he holds the position of Global Head, Specialty, overseeing Aon’s Industry and Specialty Practice Groups. Sandeep is based in Singapore, Aon’s headquarters for Asia.

Sandeep joined Aon in 2010 from Prudential Corporation Asia, where he was the CFO for Asia (2006-2009) and latterly the Chief Commercial Officer, leading the regional Product, Distribution, Customer and Marketing functions. 

Mr Guy Apovy is the current Secretary of the EU-ABC, having been the President of the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Laos since 2011. Currently the CEO of Allianz General Laos (AGL), an Allianz subsidiary in Laos since 2006, he has more than 30 years’ experience in the Insurance Industry in Life and Property and Casualty with various distribution networks having worked as Regional Head of Sales in the South West of France before acting as Head of Strategic Marketing Department and Knowledge Manager in the Paris head office.

Dr. Andrea Frenzel has been the President of the Regional Division South & East Asia at BASF SE since March 1, 2017. Dr. Frenzel has been President of South & East Asia, ASEAN and Australia/New Zealand at BASF India Limited since July 25, 2017. She served as an Executive at BASF SE. Dr. Frenzel has been a Non-Executive Director at BASF India Limited since January 1, 2015. Dr. Frenzel holds her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Goettingen, Germany. Martin Hayes is the president of Bosch for Southeast Asia where he is responsible for driving the Bosch business in the region, while based in Singapore. Presently, Mr. Hayes is Vice Chairman of the EU-ASEAN Business Council, of which he is one of the founding members; Mr. Hayes has been speaking at numerous conferences and high-profile events such as the FT-Nielsen ASEAN Cities Summit 2015, the ASEAN and AEC 2015 conference in Berlin, the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit 2016 and chairing the annual ASEAN-EU Summit.

Roberto Benetello started his career with EUMCCI in April 2016 when he joined the Board of the Chamber and was later appointed the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The valuable contributions he made during his chairmanship prompted the Chamber to appoint him as EUMCCI’s first CEO to further leverage on his capability and expertise in operations. He has over 20 years’ experience in international general management, marketing and business development in renewable energy, scientific and laboratory equipment, medical devices, health wellness and tourism. 

Pier Luigi Sigismondi is the President of Unilever South East Asia and Australasia (SEAA) - one of Unilever’s most dynamic and fast-growing regions comprising ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand, prior to which he was Chief Supply Officer across the whole of Unilever.
