Vietnam is the second ASEAN country to sign a free trade agreement with the European Union. Tariff removals are underway after more than a year of implementation, and European firms operating in Vietnam have expressed their highest confidence in the country as it recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, according to EuroCham Vietnam’s latest Business Climate Index. Analysts have also singled out Vietnam as a key beneficiary of the Regional Economic Comprehensive Partnership (RCEP). All signs point to a bright future for Vietnam’s economy. However, there are potential snags – like the country’s stance on personal data protection which could restrict trade and investment, and its close relations with Russia.

This closed-door briefing, which will be conducted by BGA’s Vietnam MD, Ha Nguyen, will provide EU-ABC Members an overview of what businesses can expect from Vietnam in the near future.
