This is a key area for many industries, from High End Fashion through to Pharmaceuticals and encompassing food and beverages and, even, industries such as the production of spare parts for motor vehicles and aircraft, as well as the electronic and software development sectors.

This Group, which includes representatives from many different business sectors, will be looking to:

• Assist in the enhancement of regional co-operation among key ASEAN law enforcement agencies;
• Encourage the harmonisation of import and export documents to ensure accurate data sharing amongst the relevant agencies;
• Promote the implementation of affordable and easy to use technology standards on product authentication and tracking/tracing;
• Increase public awareness on counterfeiting and smuggling to highlight the negative impact on health and safety;
• Work to remove the sale of online counterfeit goods on e-Commerce platforms; and to
• Encourage the updating of relevant regulations and legislation to enhance the power of law enforcement agencies.
