Titled “EU Sustainability-linked Policies: State of Play and Impact on ASEAN,” the session will examine the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, the Deforestation Directive, as well as a new proposal which would oblige companies to undertake due diligence across their supply chains covering potential human rights and environmental abuses, the current state of play on them, what the real and practical implications of them might be for businesses operating in ASEAN and how these could impact EU-ASEAN relations.
